Discussion Group and PLSA Member Platform and Community Rules
- Respect others. Please be kind and extend the benefit of the doubt to newer guests and members; there’s no such thing as a stupid question. We do not allow any form of hate speech. We define hate speech as content that does or intends to attack, threaten, incite violence against, or dehumanize an individual or a group of individuals on the basis of protected attributes. We also do not allow content that verbally or physically threatens violence or depicts harm to an individual or a group based on any of the following protected attributes:
- Race
- Ethnicity
- National origin
- Religion
- Caste
- Sexual orientation
- Sex
- Gender
- Gender identity
- Serious disease or disability
- Immigration status
- All defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials are strictly prohibited. Do not post anything that you would not want the world to see or that you would not want anyone to know came from you.
- Respect the purpose of the community. Use the community to share successes, challenges, constructive feedback, questions, and goals instead of the products or services that you provide. If you’ve found a product or service helpful, please share your experience with the group in a thoughtful and respectful way.
- Use caution when discussing products. Information posted on the discussion groups and in the libraries is available for all to see, and comments are subject to libel, slander, and antitrust laws.
- You may not share commercially privileged information or market-sensitive information.
- You may not download content for the purpose of sharing it with non-members.
- You may not promote services, products, or content (including but not limited to webinars, surveys, and external links) unless by commercial agreement with the PLSA (e.g. through advertising or another means).
- You may not use the platform for the purpose of selling or marketing, unless explicitly permitted within that specific conversation or community.
- Business members may not contact members directly for commercial benefit.
- Respect intellectual property. Post content that you have personally created or have permission to use and have properly attributed to the content creator.
- When posting items in our collaborative environment, please indicate if the content is not available for sharing or reuse. It’s also advisable to contact the owner of any material if you would like to share or reuse it. The PLSA is not responsible for any non-compliance by any user.
- Post your message or documents only to the most appropriate communities. This helps ensure all messages receive the best response by eliminating "noise."
Violation of these terms could result in having your content edited or removed, warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans from our online community. PLSA staff may speak to you if we have any concerns about your behaviour in our online space.
